Winner of multiple prestigious design awards, the Island Packet SP 41 Motor Sailor is effortless to sail with push button sail control. The patented self-tacking Hoyt Boom furling jib along with the furling mainsail, makes sailing a breeze.
MYONG HUI has a very low hour 110 HP Yanmar engine and she motors smoothly and efficiently.
“With calm seas and light winds we reported an 850 NM range at a cruise speed of 8.3 knots and nearly a 700 NM range at 9.1 knots. If you dial her back to a sedate 7.3 knots, running efficiency hits a wallet-warming 16.8 mpg, with a range of nearly 3,000 nautical miles.” Power & Motor Yacht
Island Packets are renowned for their superior build quality, excellent gel-coat and deck coring, long keels with shoal draft and protected rudder, good interior headroom, high quality opening ports, excellent galleys and for their all-around user-friendly superb design.

The galley is to port just down the steps from the salon and bridge. This is a wonderful galley in true Island Packet style and is well laid out with attention to detail.
Two reverse cycle air conditioner/heaters (32,000 BTUs total) keep the interior comfortable and there are plenty of opening ports and hatches when fresh air is desired.
The forward master suite features a large centerline berth with cedar-lined hanging lockers port and starboard. Beautiful teak walls, doors and cabinets lend a feeling of luxury. There is an overhead hatch and three opening ports for ventilation and a private entrance to the head.
There is a large storage bin under the aft end of the berth with easy access through a lid that easily lifts up with the assistance of two gas struts. A fold down leg can be deployed when necessary.
The head is to starboard and just aft of the master suite. The head has a separate stand-up shower with seat, an electric flush Tecma commode, vanity with sink and two access doors. The shower has a dedicated sump box with auto pump so shower water doesn’t enter bilge.
Underneath the stairs leading to the salon is access to a large storage area (big enough for folding bikes) with access to batteries and mechanicals.
Just aft of the head is the nav area, with large teak opening nav desk, cushioned seat and cabinet.
Aft of the nav station is the guest suite with two separate long berths (plenty wide and long for large adults), a hanging locker and several storage cabinets throughout.
Just down the steps from the helm area is a large dedicated area for AC/DC breaker panels, charging controls, VHF etc. This is a very convenient set up for breaker panel access. It is centerline and accessed from a full stand-up position. The breakers are at eye level—no bending over or twisting sideways to try and read which switch to turn on or off. A small counter top is at the base of the panels and below the counter top is a large storage cabinet.
The salon is easily accessed from the swim platform and cockpit through a heavy-duty door. Immediately to port are cabinets and shelves. To starboard is an L-shaped settee. A teak table is centered with the settee and can fold out to form a larger table when desired. Large opening windows surround the salon and bridge area for excellent natural ventilation and unobstructed panoramic views.
The bridge is immediately forward of the salon area and features two large adjustable captain’s chairs, excellent placement of instrumentation and three separate windshield panes. The center pane opens for ventilation.
The window and door units are built to the highest NMMA and European CE standards.
The SP Cruiser is certified by the NMMA and by the IMCI to be rated Category A Ocean which is the top rating for an offshore cruising boat.
NOTE: During Hurricane Harvey, Myong Hui had some damage to the starboard side of the coach roof and to the SS railing. She had some cosmetic scratches on the topsides as well. The coach roof was professionally repaired, the topsides (waterline to toe rail) were repainted and the railing was replaced professionally. LHS Marine Services performed a full survey to insure no structural damage occurred. The survey included a haulout. Myong Hui suffered no structural damage and is in excellent condition.
