Of all the synthetic finishes, two part products like Honey Teak or Bristol can look the best. But beware – if not well maintained, these finishes will be expensive to remove and replace. That’s because they’re urethanes! Try sanding it and you’ll realize that a belt sander with 60 grit will still take days to remove this stuff! In five years, and more than 200 refinishing jobs, we’ve removed about 15 two-part finishes (replaced with Cetol), and repaired only one two part finish. We’ve applied no new two-part finishes. The key with two-part finishes is, if you’re not going to maintain them religiously, don’t use them.
