47' Mason Yawl

Location: Santa Barbara, CA

This yawl was built by Hoernke Boat Co., Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1956. The Al Mason design has been considered one of the best sailing platforms for serious cruising. Although the boat was built more than 50 years ago, it remains very strong. A double planked build with Honduran Mahogany over Port Orford cedar; one finds the topsides very fair today. The white oak frames and monel cross strapping and floors supporting the keel give this boat a great future as well as a great past. The deck of solid teak over 3/4" marine plywood provides strength as well as good looks and great traction. For an afficiando of wooden boats and Al Mason designs, this boat is not to be missed!!
