Delphine is the largest steam yacht built in the US that is still in existence today. Her original owner, Horace Dodge of the Dodge automobile fame designed Delphine's unique quadruple-expansion steam engines, which are still working today. In 1942 she was placed into Naval service and renamed USS Dauntless. After the war she served as a steam ship training vessel for 18 years after which she went throught various owners, finally ending up in France and left in increasing disrepair.
From 1997 to 2003 Delphine underwent a huge refit and restoration. She came to life again back to her original glory thanks to investigation and extensive historical research by her owner's daughter. She now artfully recreates the bygone era of the roaring 20's with all the latest amenities and communication facilities. An exceptional and unique vessel.

Pantry / Storage & Garbage room
Further forward to the Dining room, there is a fully equipped pantry with a state of the art equipped galley underneath on the lower deck. A serving elevator and a dumb waiter connect the galley with the pantry on main deck. Underneath the galley on the Orlop deck, there is the main catering storage room including a walk-in refrigerator and freezer. There is a garbage room kept at 3°C. The entire galley is constructed of stainless steel and a strict separation is kept between food and waste.

Lounges and Dining
The Delphine Lounge is accessible from the main Lobby over the stair case leading up to the Promenade Deck. The two Corinthian columns flanking the entrance to the card room and its drapes are exact replicas of the originals. A Yamaha Disklavier piano and a game table are awaiting their guests.  The Lounge offers several comfortable seating areas for after dining relaxing. Drinks are served from the fully equipped bar. The room can easily be converted into a media centre by slinging down the oil painting representing SS DELPHINE which cleverly hides a large flat screen equipped with Dolby surround sound

Dining Room
The formal Dining Room is located on the Main deck. The owner has taken upmost care to detail to restore the original features of all the decorations, carvings, wall motifs and carpets according to the interior plans of Tiffany in 1921.
The main feature is the concave dome on the centre of the ceiling encircled with lights. It comfortably seats 22 guests with a maximum of 26 guests on 3 x dining tables in a luxurious and intimate atmosphere. Guests are surrounded by a collection of fine porcelain figures depicting the life of Napoleon.

Smoking Room
The wood panelled Smoking room is located forward on the Promenade Deck (upper deck) above the Dining room. This originally is where the men used to retire after dining for smoking in the original Chesterfield furniture. Today this cosy room is the ideal place to read, play cards, and enjoy the panoramic views. Legend has it that the Yalta Treaty was drawn up here and President Roosevelt was one of the famous guests at the time.

Music Room
This is the largest of the saloons on board Delphine and the Dodges named it the “Music Room” because of the Steinway Piano (1988) to port side. It housed live entertainment in addition to the yachts central entertainment system. In the past, the grilled wall contained the pipes of an Aeolian organ, but today it is used as a bar. When sliding open the two glass doors the party area can be extended to the Main Aft.

The rear Main Deck offers a comfortable seating area. It is a superb location for cocktails and dining. On colder evenings it also offers a good shelter while still being outside. This area is also the location of the hydraulic built-in gangway.
There are two side gangways to the amidships main deck. Starboard side has a platform for boarding the tenders easily.

Promenade Deck
From the Main Deck aft two stair cases lead up to the Promenade Deck. The 3m wide and covered sideways to both sides are ideal for a “promenade”. Back in time it was mandatory that the guests could watch the all important speed boat races from all angles. In the aft section is an impressive ‘al fresco’ dining area with a dining table which can seat 26 guests. Further aft is a smaller round dining table for 12 people which offers breathtaking panoramic views.

Bridge and Sun Deck

A large sun pad area to aft, comfortable chairs and lounge chairs are excellent for sunbathing around the large Pool with jet stream. There is a bar forward of the swim spa for serving refreshments to this area.
