Superb Quality Outstanding Performance

Want to explore the world in safety, speed and comfort?
We have an exceptional offering on a rare and beautifully designed Knysna 440 - a meticulously constructed cruising catamaran from one of the world’s premier boat builders and designed by the famous South African naval architect Angelo Lavranos.
She is stunning and spacious and has been exceptionally appointed by the original owner and was built to the highest standards. With her trend setting appearance and clean aerodynamic lines, she is a world apart from most production catamarans and offers a fast and exhilarating sailing experience with solid offshore performance.
This model has many of the attributes of the typical ‘owners three cabin version’, but with an extra cabin! She still has the wide passageways with workspaces in the owners hull, the head with separate shower all the way forward, a super roomy master berth, but ALSO with the fourth double berth all the way aft in the same hull!
A fantastic layout for a family on the move! And if you want to go blue water sailing, this catamaran is without equal. This boat was built to cross oceans! Unlike charter cats that are sometimes converted into cruisers and often develop structural issues after long passages, the Knysna 440 is built to take all the sea can offer and more. She has already sailed halfway around the world and shows ZERO structural issues- no cracks or flexing. She is as strong as one could ever wish for. What more would you want from a cruising cat?
The careful design of airflow through the hatch and emergency openings, when at anchor, more than make up for her lack of aircon, which in turn leads to a saving on fuel costs. The ONE THOUSAND WATT solar array covers all your charging needs – again with a saving on fuel costs. With this yacht you will finally be off the grid.
Located in the British Virgin Islands and prepared for immediate delivery, Maxi-Nique II is ready to take you far and wide to the destinations of your dreams.
OWNERS REMARKS: 17 July 2017
When we first set sail across the Atlantic Ocean from Cape Town, I was a ball of nerves and I must say, secretly petrified. We had only done coastal sailing in and around Cape Town, where the seas and wind can be unforgiving, and here I was crossing the Atlantic.

We had prepared Maxi-Nique II for our crossing and all the boxes had been checked. The list was endless, time consuming and meticulous – so why was I enveloped in a cloud of anxiety and fear. Because a) I had never crossed an ocean before and b) I did not know Maxi-Nique II in terms of keeping us safe. This I would only come to know by experience and hopefully not by a tropical storm or rogue wave. One needs a firm and complete belief in the vessel that is carrying you and her capability and strength.

Well we’ve crossed the Atlantic Ocean and sailed up through the Caribbean chain of islands, right up to Puerto Rico. We’ve sailed and motored through every kind of weather condition, beautiful, unforgettable and sometimes frightful and I now realize that my fears were unfounded. I have complete faith in Maxi-Nique II, in her solid build as a Category A1 vessel and the thorough adherence to the ISO standards during construction. We should have named her after a Viking warrior queen, because that’s what she is.

Besides her strength, the interior is sumptuous, spacious and extremely comfortable – she is beautifully appointed. A true cruising sailing vessel that you can trust to take you to every corner of the world with confidence.

We have stumbled across a business opportunity and are sadly putting Maxi-Nique II on the market, but will certainly continue our sailing adventure in the future, when the time is right again – and again we will pick wisely in our choice of vessel.

Upgrades and refits done before leaving Cape Town, South Africa: The boat was hauled out of the water and onto the hard at the Royal Cape Yacht Club boat yard
