Custom Grand Banks

Venture Yacht Sales
This custom Grand Banks 46’ Classic Trawler is powered by twin 450 HP Caterpillar engines and will cruise at 15 knots. Some of her electronics include Satellite TV, Satellite Telephone, KVH Trac Net, Simrad Radar/Plotter and Autopilot.
This vessel has a very special layout, the thought process for which developed out of the owners’ extensive cruising, and many years of boating experience. A layout with generous floor space and really good natural light and ventilation is what was called for. Her Galley is up and there are two wonderful staterooms and a good laundry. The Galley along the port side has been extended all the way forward, which adds floor space and gives the area an open and roomy feel. In the Salon, the hunter green Ultra-Suede upholstery, fine teak joiner work and the teak and holly soles all combine to make this cabin very attractive. Forward and down four steps is found the Guest Stateroom (it could be the Master.) This space, which normally makes two staterooms, has been used here for one exceptionally open and spacious cabin. It features a large V-berth forward with lots of storage and a generous dressing area. On the starboard side is a large bathroom with stall shower and full laundry.
In the Aft Cabin the split berth plan, again, opens up floor space permitting a large en suite head to starboard and a walk in closet opposite. Seven extra large, screened, opening ports, and an opening , screened hatch provide natural light and ventilation. On deck, the varnished cap rail, transom, and teak trim are Bristol, her owners having made every effort to maintain this vessel in top notch condition. A low-profile Marquipt davit deploys the solid fiberglass Boss tender from heavy teak chocks on the cabin-top afterdeck, an operation made more secure by extensive custom stainless rails. Call and make an appointment to view this highly customized Grand Banks Yacht. You will not be disappointed. She is clean and ready to go cruising, and lying in fresh water in FL.

The entire vessel forward of the deck house is dedicated to the forward stateroom with its en suite bathroom and stall shower. Forward and down four steps from the salon, through a teak-paneled joiner door brings you to a most lovely cabin. Just to port of the stairs and under the galley extension is an enormous storage locker , which also has access to a large area of dry bilge storage. A generous size V-berth is all the way forward. There are three extra-large stainless steel ports. Overhead a hatch with an OceanAir shade/screen can be used to reach the fore deck in emergency. This cabin is finished with a teak and holly sole, lovely teak joiner work and trim. Bulkheads are finished in an off white and the overhead is upholstered and has extensive halogen lighting. Just aft of the V-berth on the port side is a cedar-lined ¾ hanging locker with a teak louvered door. Across is a full length beveled mirror. Just aft, the dressing area has a very large hanging locker, built-in five drawer bureau with a child’s berth above. Overhead is another opening hatch. In the aft bulkhead is a Grand Banks-style, Grunet holding-plate freezer . Just across on the starboard side is the en suite bathroom. It is finished with white laminate bulkheads, teak trim and a teak and holly sole. Aft in the head is a nicely arranged, stacked Whirlpool washer and dryer. There is a full-size, wet hanging locker with teak grating and a drain. A shelf in the upper part of the wet locker makes good space for laundry gear. The toilet is Vacuflush, and a Tank Watch 4 monitors the holding tank. Vanity sink and countertop are cultured marble. A very nice stall shower and beveled mirrors complete the arrangement. • The flybridge is accessed up four steps from the after cabin top/boat deck, and teak decking on both the bridge and afterdeck gives security underfoot. Plenty of guest seating is provided by three built-in FRP settees. The captain and mate enjoy a lovely Stidd double helm seat. Electronics and navigational equipment are nicely clustered directly in front of the helmsman. The after part of the bridge deck is quite open and can be used in a variety of ways. More cold storage is available from the “Fridgibar” refrigerator/freezer located aft to starboard. There is lots of storage for life jackets and other upper deck gear under the settees and inside the bridge coaming. A bimini top extends over the seating areas, and a heavy aluminum mast carries the radar, KVH Trac system for TV, phone and internet, antennas and spreader lights to illuminate the deck.
