44' Viking Yachts
"SIN OR SWIM II"
Photo 1 of 22
This Viking 44 Motor Yacht features 2 staterooms with 2 fully accommodated heads, a full galley, dinette, cabin TV room and cockpit entertainment center. One stateroom has twin beds and the other a walk around queen bed. Powered by twin Detroit 671 TIB turbo diesel engines and V-drive transmissions, this vessel has all the power you need for bay cruises or multi day offshore excursions. The engine room is clean and everything is aesthetically pleasing. The owner says all electronics function well and that the boat runs flawlessly. The exterior of the boat has been well maintained but needs a few cosmetic adjustments, as one would expect, all evidenced in the pictures. The owner loves this vessel and has used it many weekends with his family, but they are moving on to road travel in a mega motor home. This vessel is in excellent condition and waiting for the right owner. She is a beautiful piece of work inside and out. Don't miss this opportunity. Send us an offer today!
The Viking 44 Motor Yacht replaced the 43 Double Cabin model in the Viking fleet in 1982. Designed for fast and comfortable cruising—and showing the sleek, low-profile styling characteristics of the Viking 46 Convertible—the 44 Motor Yacht is slightly larger inside than the 43 Double Cabin and carries more fuel and water.
While the floor plans are similar, the 44 has a larger main salon with
the forward companionway offset to starboard. The interior—considered quite elegant by 1980s standards—is an attractive blend of natural teak woodwork, designer fabrics and plush furnishings.
Topside, there’s plenty of space on the full-width aft deck for entertaining, and the flybridge is arranged with guest seating forward of the helm console.
Additional features include a wide side decks, a hardtop and arch, and steel engine mounts—a Viking trademark.
A good running boat with the optional 485hp 6-71s, the Viking 44 MY will cruise at a fast 24 knots and turn 28+ knots wide open.

Stepping down into the salon, ones eye is drawn forward because of the open layout of the dinette and galley, .providing the illusion that the boat is much larger than one might think. This has always been a hallmark of this boat. The salon area is resplendent in warm, rich teak woodwork. Large windows (opening w/ screens) allow plenty of natural lighting in for a nice, open and airy feeling. Portside is a L-shaped sofa that converts to a queen sized double berth. There is a coffee table center in front of the sofa. Also on the portside is a very elegant wet bar with storage areas. To starboard is the entertainment center with newer AV equipment... 5 channel surround sound AV Amplifier, Yamaha sub-woofer, CD/DVD 5 disc player, TV and a back-up Standard VHF radio. Moving forward towards the dinette, one will find additional drawers and doors providing excellent storage. The dinette is HUGE and provides seating for six and dinner for four. The dinette also converts to a double berth to sleep two in comfort. Plenty of storage areas both under and over the dinette provide additional storage areas. There is bottle storage beneath a hinged door area to port. The Viking galley is sizable and features raised panel doors and a beautiful teak floor.

"SIN OR SWIM II" is and has always been one of the most popular mid-sized motor yachts ever built. With a production run between 1982 and 1990, many of these yachts remain very popular today given their excellent performance, sea keeping abilities, and fabulous layouts. Many improvements were made to the 44 over that of her predecessor: more beam, lighter interiors, improved hull design, more fuel and water, etc. Most 43s were gas powered and all 44s are diesel powered. Designed for fast and comfortable cruising, the Viking 44 MY evolved over the years into a low profile boat with double hard-tops, more aggressive engine air intakes, reconfigured deckhouse and bridge layouts.
