Did I say that in the same sentence? Your boat and making money? There it is again! Is that possible? Is it allowed? There must be some law or ordinance that puts you behind bars on this one.  I don’t think you even need a judge. I think I once heard that someone said that out loud in a conversation in public, and a van pulled up and took that person away! I never found out what kind of van or from where, but as they say…watch what you say in public. I don’t even know if they ever heard from that guy again. Wow!! Could you imagine making money and having your best fun come along with it? Is that allowed? Has anyone done this, or is this just a dream….don’t wake me up!  ….but it is true and you can!

If you have a Powerboat or Sailboat, you can make money by taking people out.  Take them fishing, cruising for the day or over night at a lovely harbor. The only thing you need is a Boat Captains license. There are many places to get this. Online or in classes near you. You can find these in boating magazines and papers, or search online.

With a lot of people staying close to home these days, but looking for something different to do, you can capitalize on this by putting yourself out for hire. Those times you go for a cruise by yourself, now you can have someone or a group go out with you. Like having company, yet you can tell them about the area, give them some pointers, and make money at the same time. Do it on the weekends or even at night… a sunset cruise! Anchor or dock in a harbor so your passenger(s) can head to a beach or walk the town.

By getting your Captains’ License, allows you the versatility to add income from your powerboat or sailboat day or night. There are plenty of ways to advertise inexpensively to get you started.
